Warranties:

The Village Geek, Inc. warranties everything we sell. The warranty you get depends on the product you buy.

Systems:

  • New complete systems are guaranteed against defects in parts or labor for one to three years from the purchase date depending on the model. Software carries no warranty (thier rules, not ours).
  • *New* Used and refurbished complete systems are guaranteed against defects in parts or labor for one year from the purchase date.
  • Upgrades and repairs are guaranteed against defects in parts or labor for one year, the remainder of manufacturers warranty may be longer.
  • All systems warranties are for repair or replacement only. There are no refunds on computer systems.
  • Any items missing when the system is delivered must be brought to our attention within 10 days of delivery. No replacement disks, or peripherals will be given after 10 days.
Upgrading or altering your system does not void your warranty. However if a warranty claim is necessary it is only our responsibility to return the system to its original condition. Remove all add on cards and or drives before requesting service. Be sure to back up all hard drive files as we may have to format or replace the disk. We can back it up for you, but there could be a charge. If you wish you may remove parts you feel are defective and return them to save time. Please bring your receipt with you.

Parts:
  • Most parts have a 10 day return policy. All returns must be complete and with all packaging.
    Opened parts other than CPU's, memory and software may be returned for a refund subject to a 15% restocking fee. Opened parts must be complete and in resellable condition, all original antistatic bags, cables, documentation, and disks, etc. must be included.
  • CPU's memory products, used parts, and opened software items may be returned for exchange when defective only. These items are not eligible for refund.
  • Hard Drives, monitors, printers and scanners are warranted by the manufacturer and must be returned directly to the manufacturer after the 10-day return period. We will process that warranty claim for you if you wish. Shipping costs are your responsibility.
  • There is no warranty on physically damaged parts.
  • Other than the parts listed above all parts carry a 90-day exchange for defective only warranty, some carry a manuacturer's warranty after that. After ninety days, or if the identical item is no longer available, The Village Geek will, at our discretion return the item to the manufacturer for repair, exchange, upgrade or refund the current value of the item.
  • Due to the volatility of the computer market, all refunds are made at the current value of the item.
  • In no case will The Village Geek warranty exceed the manufacturers warranty.
  • There is no labor warranty on parts or unassembled kits.
  • Incidental damage caused by a defective part is not covered by our warranty.
  • Assembled barebones kits are guaranteed against defects in parts or labor for 90 days, and the maufacturers warranty applies for the remainder of one year.
